I started Mauldin Books in 2012 with nothing more than a calling and a blank page. Since then, I have poured my life, faith, and voice into every story we publish. This is still a one-man operation, built on a vision bigger than any bestseller list. I do not chase trends. I do not publish noise. I listen for the truth inside the story and shape it until it shines.

Our promise is simple: your time, trust, and curiosity will always be honored. We offer books, conversations, confessions, and invitations to live, think, and believe more deeply.

Mauldin Books — Words Are Forever.

My journey as a writer did not begin at a desk. It started on a walk in February 1992—frustrated, angry, and demanding answers from a silent sky. I stopped, looked up, and shouted, "If you are there, why don't you say something?”

Everything around me went still. Then a voice—not loud, but undeniable—responded through me:

“And what would you have Me say?”

That moment changed everything. I realized I was not alone. I was loved. And I had been created for a purpose I had not yet lived into. It would take years for that encounter to fully take root in my life—and even now, at 67, I still have moments of doubt. But my purpose overrides doubt's power. And when I lose focus, God finds a way to bring me back.

He told me to draft a book called God Speaks—A Dialogue. Alas, I did not hit the ground running. Life happened, and I delayed. Someone else published Conversations with God, and I felt I had missed it. Still, the call remained. In 2007, I finally obeyed.

From that point on, I stopped running and started listening.

I began writing poetry to strengthen my faith. Later, I transitioned to novels and devotionals. Then came a ten-year pause while I raised my two sons as a single father. Looking back, I know that was also a divine assignment. Fatherhood is the greatest experience of my life. And when I became a grandfather to five beautiful children—born into hard situations—I stepped in again, not out of obligation, but love. Their parents were struggling with addiction and broken patterns, so I became their constant. Not perfect—but present.

I have survived breast cancer, a quintuple bypass, and multiple spiritual awakenings. I have also survived the silence—the waiting, the blinking cursor, the self-doubt. Through it all, God has shown me that if I stay faithful and disciplined, the words will come.

When I write, I aim for four hours daily (except Saturdays—God's Day of rest). But some days stretch into ten. At times, I failed to eat, because I was so focused that I would lose track of time. I may get distracted once I stand up, but I always return because this is not just what I do. It is who I am.

A friend once told me, “You are God's Scribe." I wrote that on a sticky note and stuck it near my desk. It reminds me why I'm here—not to chase trends or sell books but to tell the truth through fiction, memoir, devotional writing, and every other form.

And here's something you should know:

I'm not only the founder of Mauldin Books. I'm the author of every title we publish. I'm the layout designer, the cover artist, and the publisher. I've walked every step of the creative journey—from start to finish, draft to delivery—not because I had to wear all the hats, but because each part of the process matters to me. Every font, margin, and brushstroke on a cover is all part of the story.

That hands-on experience has given me something precious: the ability to help other writers step into their own calling. If you're beginning, I can walk with you. If you've stopped halfway through, I understand. And if you're doubting whether your story even matters—I promise you, it does.

My books span genres:

• The Holy Warrior Trilogy, a discipleship devotional rooted in bold, Spirit-led living.
   
• A Twist of Faith is the first in a 13-book historical saga that starts with Claudia Procula, wife of Pontius Pilate, and ends with her descendant facing the Antichrist.
   
• Riding Rollercoasters with God, a raw, unfiltered memoir of faith, illness, surrender, and survival.
   
• Children's books, relationship books, and a vault of over 75 outlined works—fiction and nonfiction—all built with one goal in mind:
  To stir your soul and stay with you.
   

I hope readers find themselves inside the words I write, recognizing parts of themselves they did not know existed.

To me, this isn't a business. It is a Writing Ministry disguised as a publishing company. It's a lifelong mission to tell stories that heal, confront, comfort, and last.
